Aviva Jifei Xue, a New York-based designer, launched her eponymous label in 2020, drawing deeply from her upbringing between Japan and China. A graduate of Parsons’ fashion design program in 2017, where she specialized in menswear, Xue’s work blends heritage with materiality. Natural fibres—hemp, wool, linen, and silk—are central to her collections, often naturally dyed and adorned with ceramic buttons as a nod to tradition. Her designs emphasize craft and old-world production techniques, utilising antique fabrics and custom-made textiles sourced from generational mills in Japan, resulting in pieces that celebrate timeless craftsmanship.
